Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero
In keeping with one of our school values, stewardship, looking after God’s world, we are taking part in the Big Battery Hunt. All children have received a box in which to collect used batteries. They can be returned to school where they will be sent off to be recycled rather than filling in landfill sites.
Our E-rangers presented an assembly about keeping ourselves safe on the internet. They have been working very hard as part of our Safe at School Squad (SAS Squad) researching and preparing their presentation. Other activities have been taking place in classes throughout the day.
Keller class had a great day at Bramall Hall, learning about Tudor life and about the Davenport family who lived in the hall. They had the chance to write calligraphy with a real feather quill, play authentic Tudor instruments, dance a Tudor dance, make a nose gay to keep bad smells away, find out about Tudor food, examine and sketch some of this best preserved wall paintings of the time and find out about Tudor marriage. We crammed a lot into the day!
All the groups took part in a team building challenge wall. The aim was to get all team members over the wall. Once completed, another plank was added!
On our first night, the children completed the night line. One member of each group was blindfolded and instructed around the course by the other two members of their team . An excellent team building task with all team members putting their trust into each other.
