Monday 6th July

Good morning! I hope you've had a great weekend! Today we begin another week of home learning and we see by all the pages on our website how long we have been working in this way and it makes us so super proud of all of you that you continue to work so hard, achieve so much and smile for each of the pictures we receive!! So a big well done! smiley

Phonics

We continue to follow the read write inc videos and they are a fantastic way to recap a sound or learn a new one. There are also the other videos you can choose if you feel confident with your sounds. You might like to try the spelling videos or green words, there is also the red word practise and if you are feeling like a challenge you could try the 'reading longer words' or the 'hold a sentence' videos. smiley

Reading

This week we have a book all about Space to read. It is a slightly trickier book so do make sure you practise the story green and red words on the first page of the book. With this first reading you might like to take turns to read a page at a time with a grown up or older sibling or just have a little bit of help on new words. Then have a go at talking about your favourite parts of the story and why you think Nancy was important to space exploration. You might even like to research other people who were important to space exploration - remember we have already learnt lots about someone in our intrepid explorers topic last half term! smiley

Maths

We are trying a slightly different maths presentation this week; which includes videos of our learning focus. We hope that you will enjoy this slight change; which still follows the national curriculum as we have throughout our home schooling period. This week we are going to look again at number and place value to 100. We hope you enjoy having the opportunity to consolidate these important skills! smiley

Maths worksheet

Whilst this is one worksheet, the questions increase in difficulty as they go along. Today I think you can complete all of these!

Written task 1... write the answers into your green book if you don't have access to a printer

Afternoon activities

Have a look at this week's topic based activities. This week we have lots more animal activities!
