History - The House of Wisdom

During today's History Loom lesson we will be answering the question...What can you find out about the ‘House of Wisdom’ and what did this ’Golden Age’ give the world? I would like you to click on the link below to take part in today's lesson. Nearly every child in Oak class took part in last week's lesson - let's do this again! When you take part in the Loom lesson please write just the first two letters of your first name in the comments section e.g. my first name is Rebecca so I would write 're'

During the lesson, I will ask you to create a 'History Vocabulary Bank' and to complete a grid whereby you will write anything you already know about Islamic civilisation and any questions you might have. You can complete these activities on paper or if you have a printer you can use the resources below. Please email me your grid with questions on so I can plan lessons that hopefully answer them!

Since recording the lesson, I’ve seen how great you were on Tuesday’s Padlet so I have included a link to a class History Padlet. I would like you to post an interesting fact you learn about 'The House of Wisdom' on it by clicking on the link below. Feel free to pop them on the blog too - let's share all our fantastic learning with each other!

I have included an 'Alternative Lesson PowerPoint and resource' that provides extra support in case you need it.
