Monday 29th June- Friday 3rd July

Hello Drake class!

We hope you are enjoying extending your learning with our afternoon activities! This week we continue with our jungle themed adventure, so please choose one of our activities below!

This week we are also going to celebrate 'Sports Day!' As we are unable to enjoy a sports day together at home we thought you might like to create your own at home! We have added some links and challenges for you to take part in! So we will be looking forward to seeing your pictures of your sports day at home! smiley

Understanding the World - Identifying animals

This week we are going to continue finding out about animals. This week we will be learning about the terms carnivore and herbivore. We will then identify and sort carnivores and herbivores. Then choose your challenge of worksheet to sort the animals into carnivores and herbivores.

Understanding the World - Let's go to the jungle

This week we are moving closer to home and we will identify differences between deciduous and evergreen trees, and compare a UK woodland
to a variety of tropical and equatorial jungle forests. Have a look at the presentation and then choose your challenge to complete you might also like to when you are out ad about look at the trees around you and see if you can tell if they are deciduous or evergreen. smiley

Animal art

This week we are looking at the animals in the South American rainforest. Watch the power point first and then complete one of the 3D art activities listed below with the resources to help you.

1. Create a hanging snake. Once you have watched the powerpoint use the resources to choose one of the snakes on the Picture Cards as the basis for your own snake, following the patterns and colours as closely as you can on the templates provided. Cut round the dotted lines and then attach a piece of thread to the top of the snake so that it can be hung up.

2. Create a sitting up parrot. The instructions are on the resources sheet. This does involve having a few craft items such as coloured paper.

Happy making!
