Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero
Today we went to Mass for the Ascension. In class we heard the story and made Ascension cups to depict the story. We used these to tell the story of Jesus going back to his Father in heaven.
We held Holy Week assemblies to retell the story of this important time in our church’s calendar.
Our Lent penitential service was reflective and calming. The children wrote Lenten promises which they presented to Father Peter.
We learnt how Jesus chose his disciples. We acted out this story in class!
We went to St Paul’s church to learn more about the sacrament of Baptism.
Willow class listened to the story of Jesus getting lost in the temple. They created their own Temples from the resources in our class and used small world figures to retell the story.
We visited StPauls church and celebrated Mass with the parishioners.
We loved acting and singing songs to tell the story of the Nativity.
Our Advent service was thoughtful and spiritual, preparing us for the coming of Jesus at Christmas.
We created advent promises based on the values of love, joy, peace and hope.
Today we learnt about the advent wreath and what it shows. We made an advent wreath out of resources to take home.
Mrs Duffy from CAFOD came in to speak to us today about their work overseas. We listened to a story about how working together can make the world a better place to be.
Today we heard the story of the angel Gabriel appearing to Mary. We heard how she said yes to God.
We looked at the message of the rainbow, that God promises to always love us.
This week we heard the story of Noah’s Ark. We used our ark to help us to tell the story!
This week we thought about how we could look after Gods world. We read “10 ways to help the world” and followed some advice it gave. We used recycling to make other things, made seed balls to plant and created zig zag books to tell people how to look after the Earth.
We listened to the story of Adam and Eve and how they sometimes didn’t listen to God. We played a game with lots of behaviours and decided if they were good choice behaviours or not.
We listened to the story of creation from Genesis. We used the small world props to bring the story alive.
We heard how God made the world. We acted out something from creation for our friends to guess!
