Monday 11th May

Monday morning Singing with the Smiths!

Don't forget you can start your week with a song: If I were a butterfly: one you know well!

English

L.O. To write direct speech

I'm hoping that by now all your non-fiction books are finished. I have enjoyed reading those I have received all ready. If you haven't sent it it yet, please do so I can enjoy your work!

So I thought we'd try something a bit different today. First, remind yourself of how to write out direct speech. (Sorry  parents about the catchy song!) Then, follow the link to a 'padlet'. Click on the pink circle in the bottom right hand corner. Add your name as the title, then write a piece of  short dialogue between 2 characters following on from this story starter:

Jenny and Michael opened the creaky door and peered inside.

Your writing will need to be approved by me before other people can see it. I will be online watching   and approving your writing between 9:30 and 10:30. If it's possible, try to do this then and you will be able to see what other people are writing and 'like' their writing by clicking on the heart at the bottom of each text box.

If you haven't got access to a computer during the day or can't get on during this time, don't worry. You can still write up a dialogue in your yellow book and I will be checking in on the Padlet throughout the day.

I hope this new technology works!

Maths

L.O. To understand  units of measure

We are going to be learning about weights this week. There's a short video you

can watch to remind you about different measure.

I'd like you to help make a meal at home, or do some baking  . As you are working, pay attention to anything that you have to measure. (Parents, please point out metric units!) You might need to read the weighing scales, measure out liquid or use measuring spoons for small amounts. Pay attention to the different ways that you can measure  the ingredients.  Record some of the different units of measure that you use in your yellow book.  Don't worry if you can't do it today!

Spanish
