Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero

Meet the Governors

Mr Stephen Robinson

I am married to Caroline and we have two children who attended St Paul’s and currently attend All Hallows Catholic College. My working profession is in engineering and project management and I have a personal interest in education. I hope that all children feel happy in school, and that they each can achieve their individual potential. I fully support the ethos and values of St Paul’s and feel privileged to be the Chair of Governors.

Mr Richard Cantillon

I have had the privilege of being a governor at St.Paul's since 1997 when I was elected as Parent Governor.  I have been a Foundation Governor since 2004.  I spent six years "in the Chair" and several years as Vice-chair.  I have also spent two years as a Governor at All Hallows' one of our Academy Trust partners.

All three of our children completed their primary education at St. Pauls' over a continuous period of 16 years during which time I came to believe what a special school and community it is.

I am a general dental practitioner and we have owned and run our practice in New Mills for nearly 30 years.

Mr John Brogan

I have served as a Foundation Governor at St Paul's for many years. My involvement with St Paul's stretches back to the year 2000 when my son started in Year 1, with my daughter following a few years later. The extremely positive and friendly vibe emanating from the school is something that has always been present and I hope that my involvement as a governor and links with St Paul's parish assist in helping the school maintain the high standards for which it is renowned.

From a business perspective I am also able to offer the school my many years of experience gained in senior finance and IT management roles within different business sectors.

Mrs Julie Johnson

I have been an active member of St Paul’s Parish since moving to Poynton in 1973.  I served as Parent Governor during the years when my three children attended St Paul’s Catholic Primary School.  Now, grown up and with families of their own, they still have very happy memories of their time at St Paul’s.

I trained as a teacher, first working in primary schools then at a high school where, in addition to teaching, I was a Head of Year.  I am now retired from full time work but I very much enjoy supporting a number of groups within the community and the parish, as a volunteer.

I feel very privileged, as a Foundation Governor, to be able to support the wonderful work being done at St Paul’s Catholic Primary School.  I believe that our precious children deserve the very best primary school education where they are able to grow in confidence and knowledge and develop their beliefs because they feel safe, secure and nurtured by all those who work with them in our school.

Miss Anne Marley

I have been a member of the St Paul’s Parish Community for the last forty years and was appointed as a Foundation Governor in 2017.

My professional background is in education and I recently retired as a secondary school teacher. I have had a lifelong commitment to education and enjoy contributing to the governance of St Paul’s. My particular areas of interest include early years, mathematics education and data processing.

In my spare time I enjoy walking, playing tennis and spending time with my family.

Mr Jason Danton

As a current parent of two children attending St Pauls I have always supported the school motto of “aspire not to have more but to be more” and have been impressed by the way St Pauls prides itself on enabling each child to reach its full potential both educationally and emotionally.

I am the current Parent Governor and bring my background in training and development in aviation to the role.  St Paul's hugely values parents and the wider community in educating children, I have personally always enjoyed attending Wednesday Word and celebration assemblies, celebrating Mass with my children in  school and many other opportunities.

Mr Paul Cassidy

I feel privileged to serve as a Foundation Governor at St. Paul’s, a school and dedicated staff, which have been so influential in growing and shaping my three children, and the children of our friends.

I look forward to seeing the current and future classes of St. Paul’s learn from the school’s values, experience its warmth and support, and benefit from all the positives I have witnessed over the past decade.

I am a solicitor working in the public sector, and very much hope, from work and wider experiences, to be able to bring benefit to St. Paul’s for years to come.
