Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero

Autumn

In this topic we will be getting used to the school environment and what changes the children are discovering, getting used to school routines and finding out about the new challenges of Year 1. As we talk about differences we will consider differences between us (including family units, cultures and disabilities) and reflect on the fact that these are what make us interesting and us.  Pupils will clearly receive the message that we are all worthy and welcome within our class, school and society. We will be noticing the changes in the environment around us and considering the question 'Why are there so many leaves on the floor?' Lots of time outdoors experiencing the signs of Autumn and finding out about seasonal changes and creating our own weather forecasts. We will create our own patterns with Autumn leaves in the style of William Morris.
