I hope you are all well. Thank you so much for those of you who have been emailing and blogging. It's been lovely to see what you have been doing at home. Today I have set some English, Maths and PSHE work for you to do.
Today you are going to reflect on the story of Palm Sunday by creating a poem and as the week progresses you will write a poem for the different parts of the Easter story. I know that on Friday you read the story of Palm Sunday and you had a video to watch. Please refer back to this on Friday's web page. To follow on from this I would like you to do the following things:
1. Read a version of the Palm Sunday story yourself. Below is a version to download.
2. I want you to think about if you were in Jerusalem at the time Jesus entered there on a donkey. Use your senses and think about what you would see, hear, smell, touch and feel. Read the example of the poem together (document to download - page 1).
3.Complete the planning sheet (page 2).
4.Use the planning sheet (page 3) to write your own senses poem about Palm Sunday. Feel free to type this document and email it to us or write in your green workbook. It would be lovely if you could share some of your completed poems.
I hope you had fun ordering numbers yesterday. Today you are going to be ordering numbers again, but it gets a bit harder as you have to think about where they would go on a number grid. Please use the presentation below and look at lesson 2. You then have some worksheets to use. Choose which star you feel most confident with, the more stars means the harder it gets! Once you have completed the worksheets you could play the game listed below (select numbers 0-50). Have fun ordering numbers!
We usually use a scheme called Jigsaw to teach PSHE. Jigsaw have provided some lessons for families to complete at home. The lesson is called 'Fowley's Wings' and focuses on hopes and dreams. It would be great if you could complete this lesson as a family. It involves watching a story, discussion and a craft activity making wings. There are two activities to choose from so do the activity you prefer as a family. Please keep the wings you make as we would love to create a display of them when we return to school.
