Friday 9th January

Good morning once again!

We weren't expecting our first week back of the term to start like this, were we? I hope that you are all ok. It was lovely to see so many of you on our zoom yesterday. We will do the same thing today. We will use the same login details as today. I will send them out in an email in case you have lost them.

Well done to everyone who has been busy with work. I can see loads of great work on Purple Mash. Check your rewards (near the To Do button) to see wat you have earned for your work.

Here are the results of the Kahoot from yesterday. A house point for our 3 players who made the podium! Check out the link below for today's quiz. Be in it to win it!

Maths

There are a lot of people who still have work to complete on MyMaths so please login and complete the activities on there.

As it's Friday, it's time for a 192 challenge! If you have a printer, use the document below to print out either challenge C or A1 (you know which one you should be on!). Give yourself 10 minutes to answer as many as you can. The answers are on a different tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet. Mark it and then let me know your answer on the Padlet link below.

English

Have a look at this snowy scene (or just look out your window!). Write a short story based on this setting. Remember that stories should have 5 parts:

Opening

Build up

Problem

Resolution

Ending

That means that you should have at least 5 paragraphs in your story. Some parts (the problem and resolution) are the main part of the story so these may be longer.

Stories should also contain:

Action

Description

Dialogue

in each section, so try to vary the style of writing to keep the reader interested.

Bring your finished stories into school next week, or, if you type it, you can email me: sycamore@stpauls.cheshire.sch.uk

Purple Mash

There are loads of activities on Purple Mash too: maths, English, science, history, computing and Spanish. When you go on, don't forget to check which rewards you have achieved!

Art

We always love art on a Friday afternoon, so you can enjoy drawing along with Rob!

Send me your finished pictures, or pop them onto the What are you doing today? Padlet so that we can all admire them!
