Welcome to Class 1

Welcome to our class web page. We hope you enjoy our wonderful pictures and events we will be sharing with you throughout the year!

In Class 1 we enjoy learning through play. We have a wonderful learning environment both in the classroom and outdoors allowing us to play, learn and explore.

2015-16

Aldrine and Madison were very brave to hold the birds of prey that came to visit us today.

Poynton firefighters came to visit us and told us all about their job. We asked them plenty of questions and Mrs Ricketts dressed up in a firefighter uniform! We even got a chance to use the hose to spray some water.

We had a visit from the dental playbox as part of our 'people who help us' topic. She showed us how to look after our teeth by brushing them and visiting the dentist.

Our TIP TOP time was great. Everyone enjoyed sharing their learning journeys with their parents and showing them around our classroom.

Our 'bright clothes day' to raise money for Cafod. We hope our donations will help to help brighten another child's future.

Plenty of learning experiences are taking place in class 1!

Windy Day - flying our kites!

Spring planting seeds

We had fun celebrating Pancake Day! We read the story the enormous pancake and then we had a treat of eating our pancakes! Yummy!

Happy Pancake Day

Our topic this half term is 'People who help us'. Each week we have found out about a different group of people who help us in our community. We have found out about The Police, The Fire Fighters, The Post People, The Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics and The Train Drivers.
This week Mr Naden and his collegue Dan visited our class to tell us about their job as Police officers. They showed us pictures and told us how they help people in our community. They showed us the equipment they use and the special uniform they wear. We had thought about the questions we wanted to ask them and they spent time answering all of our long list of questions! We even got to try on some of the different hats worn by Police Officers.

The Police came to visit and we learnt about Road Safety

We Wrote a letter to our heart partner and went to the post box to post it.
