Reading
Reading
This week we have a book all about pets to read. It is a slightly trickier book so do make sure you practise the story green and red words on the first page of the book. With this first reading you might like to take turns to read a page at a time with a grown up or older sibling or just have a little bit of help on new words. Once you have read the book discuss which animals you think are pets and which are pests and why and have a go at answering the questions at the end of the book. You don't need to write your answers down you can just talk about them.
Maths
This week we are going to divide our time between understanding money and coins and telling the time. Today we will be looking at and understanding the value of different coins. There will be a worksheet to follow. If some of you sail through these questions I include some additional 'problem solving and reasoning' questions. Your mum or dad could explain the problem and see if you can find the solution. ***Message to mums and dads*** The answers are on these too so hide them until you are ready. You could print the sheets out and stick the problems in your green books to solve.
