Monday 13th July

Good morning and welcome to our last week of home schooling before the summer holidays! Once again we would like to thank all the mums and dads for supporting you with your home learning tasks and also working out all the technology and sending us emails and pictures and videos of your fabulous work! It has made us smile to continue to see you and your work! This week I will put the link to the Read write inc lessons on if you would like to continue to follow them and practise your phonics skills. If you follow our 'Afternoon activities' link we have some great summer themed activities and stories and tasks linked to transition ready for September so we hope you enjoy!

Reading

Reading

This week we have a book all about pets to read. It is a slightly trickier book so do make sure you practise the story green and red words on the first page of the book. With this first reading you might like to take turns to read a page at a time with a grown up or older sibling or just have a little bit of help on new words. Once you have read the book discuss which animals you think are pets and which are pests and why and have a go at answering the questions at the end of the book. You don't need to write your answers down you can just talk about them.

Maths

This week we are going to divide our time between understanding money and coins and telling the time. Today we will be looking at and understanding the value of different coins. There will be a worksheet to follow. If some of you sail through these questions I include some additional 'problem solving and reasoning' questions. Your mum or dad could explain the problem and see if you can find the solution. ***Message to mums and dads*** The answers are on these too so hide them until you are ready. You could print the sheets out and stick the problems in your green books to solve. smiley
