Our Learning Today...
Religion
Last week I introduced you to our 'Spirited Art' competition. This year we are answering the question 'Where Is God?'. This is obviously a very open question and one designed to draw out your creativity and thinking skills. If you ddin't get chance to do this last week, here is the link to my explanation from last week; scroll down the page and the video explanation comes in for our 'Where Is God?' theme 33 minutes in...
Last week we were focusing on the art work. Today, start the art work if you didn't get chance. In class we did our basic pictures but these now need outlining and adding to with oil pastels, 3D pens, glitter, sequins etc... then we are going to write about our picture. Remember this is a competition and I will send off any entries I receive.
I enclose a writing scaffold below but you can type it out if you prefer. There are also other ideas on what to include writing wise on the screenshots I included on the page link above. If you use my scaffold the writing prompts outside of the box are for you to use to write inside the box. You can draw lines on it too if you choose to print it out.
If you manage to do one please do drop them into school. I LOVE seeing work like this that comes from your hearts. I KNOW you will have wonderful ideas. I will share the Year 1 work with you next week!
Our maths learning today...
Will be on 'My Maths'. This will be set by 10am this morning. If you have missed any maths learning this week you can also use this time to catch up!
Our afternoon topic activities
I was clown away by our Year 1 Georgia O'Keeffe style flowers yesterday afternoon. We are continuing with these in school this afternoon so you may like to hava a go yourself. We are layering our art pastels and paint. Today we are also adding 'special effects' such as 3D paint pens and sequins to outline the petals or to create seeds. Be creative and have a go. I would love to see how you do. So do post pictures on the blog or to our email. I'll add the finished Year 1 designs next week.
The link for this is our topic page below. Scroll down to the 'Art' section.
