Tolerance of different Cultures and Religions

We celebrated Chinese New Year 2019 by looking at the Chinese zodiac and dragon dance. We looked at pictures of Chinatown in Manchester. We practised Chinese writing in our maths lessons and set challenges for our friends.

We have been looking at the Amazon. We have learned a Brazilian dance called Na Ponta Do Pe.

We read a book related to our houses and homes topic called 'The New Neighbours'. This challenged us to think about how we respond to people before we have chance to get to know them. Sometimes we find we have misjudged them. We made posters about remembering to show tolerance and respect to everyone.
To celebrate World Down's Syndrome Day we wore our odd socks; showing that we are all different and unique. We also bought some delicious gingerbread socks!
