Read ‘Up in the Air' a second time (www.oxfordowl.co.uk). After you have read the ebook answer the questions which you will find at the back of the book. You can either answer the questions verbally or write the answers in your home learning book. 

 

Maths

The maths lesson today focuses on doubles. Please complete lesson 5 of the PowerPoint presentation and the worksheet named 'Doubles representations'. The sheets are available to download below if you want a different level of challenge. You may also like to complete the mental maths task on the Topmarks website (link below and more details of levels to access). You may also enjoy playing the 'Dice Double' game which you should find in your home learning packs. 

 

History - Intrepid explorers

Today we will be carrying on thinking about Christopher Columbus' voyages and what he brought back to Europe. Today we will be time travelling and thinking of questions we would like to ask Christopher Columbus. 

You will find today's worksheet in your home learning pack or you can of course use your green home learning book.

Freestanding Tower Building Competition!

There's a freestanding tower building challenge for primary children in Poynton (and surrounding areas) being launched this week. There will be prizes for the tallest tower, the most unusual building material and a ‘judges’ choice’ award which will be at the judges’ discretion (e.g. youngest entrant, best photo, most ambitious project etc.). 

 

The competition will run from Wednesday 6th May until midnight on Thursday 14th May with winners announced on Friday 15th May. Early entries will be accepted (before Wed 6th May) if they're ready!
