Remember to think about the size, position and joins as you copy this extract from the end of chapter 2 from The Wind in the Willows.

English

L.O. To picture a setting

Read or listen to the beginning of chapter 3 - The Wild Wood from one of the options below. Just to the the line: the terror of the Wild Wood.

Then look closely at the extract below and see if you can find words or phrases in the text which mean the same as the following:

Word or phrase from the text

  • quickly

  • stopped

  • a safe place

  • protect

  • frighten

Once you have done that, see if you can use the description to draw a picture of the Wild Wood. Use as much of the detail that you hear or read as you can. I am looking forward to seeing your pictures!

The Wind in the Willows Audiobook Chapter 3 with subtitles

You can read along and listen. Just go to 14 minutes and 10 seconds.

Maths

L.O. To use a formal written method of division.

Hopefully, you have made a good start in learning how to write down divisions in a neat and formal way. If you still need to draw partitioning diagrams or counters and cubes to help as well, that's fine.

Here is another video to help you to remember how to do it. Perhaps you could make your own teaching video to share with the class!

There are 3 levels of questions. Choose the one which will challenge you, but not be too hard. There is also a challenge sheet if you fancy it!

L.O. To understand the story of the Forgiving Father

We are going to learn about the story of the Forgiving Father. You can either watch the Loom video, or work your own way through the presentation. If the sound isn't great in the video, you can watch it below.
