Week 5

Such a busy week of learning! The children really have settled well into Willow and are enjoying our learning experiences and routines. We start the day with our 'morning jobs' a carousel of practical activities they complete each day. They are becoming much more independent in finding their groups activity and having a go, as children arrive for the start of the day!

Our book focus for this week was My Grandmothers Purse. We listened to the story and then had a go at ordering the items that the Grandmother in the story had in her bag! We then thought about the special things that we would like to keep in a bag and made our own 'lift the flap' bag. it was lovely to hear the discussions about what their favourite toy is to put in their bag and their favourite colours to decorate it!

In maths this week we have been busy subitising numbers to 3. This means we are using our fast eyes and saying how many are in the group without counting. This is a really important skill to develop number sense and it will be the focus for our number sessions initially.

In RE this week we have continued to explore God's creation using the words from Genesis to present the story of creation using props they have created. Well done Willow Class!
