Monday 6th July- Friday 10th July

Hello Drake class... Here are our pick and mix of topic based activities for this week! As you all did such a fantastic job with our sports day at home last week I have added some extra sports challenge cards below that you might like to have a go at. The first is a throwing and catching challenge so you can improve your skills with a ball. Maybe you can try it throughout the week and see how much better you are at the end! The second challenge are some activities inspired by the Joe Wicks work outs! We look forward to seeing how you get on! laugh
You also did such a super job with your sports day at home that you all deserve a medal! So below is a design your own medal activity that we thought you might like to design your own special medal you could even cut them out and display them at home!

Understanding the world - identifying animals

This week we will consider the needs of a variety of animals, and explain how best to care for them. We will look at different animals to understand that different animals need different things. Then have a go at one of the activities from the worksheets choosing your level of challenge for how to look after a pet. If you don't want to print off you can draw your animal in your green home learning book and write how to look after your chosen pet!

Understanding the world - Let's go to the jungle

This week is our final lesson on 'Let's go to the jungle' so we will be reflecting on everything we have learnt about the locations, weather and geographic features of jungles. Then complete use the worksheet to create a booklet about 'what is a jungle! If you don't want to print the worksheet you can either complete the booklet in your green home learning book or use a piece of plain paper. If you fancy an extra challenge you can have a go at the jungle quiz! smiley

Art activity

Today we are moving to North America and looking at Native American animals in art. Once you have had a look at the power point, your task is to create your own animal totem pole. As explained in the powerpoint each animal represents a different quality. You are to choose 3 of these qualities (animals) that best represent you and create a totem pole. You can either choose to draw these free hand or if you prefer on page 15-17 of the resources there are each of the animals that you can cut out and create your totem pole. Colour your finished totem pole in. Ask your family what animals would be in their totem poles.
