Transition - Year 6

On a piece of paper (to bring into school next week) write paragraphs with the following headings:

  1. What have you achieved during the time you have been at this school? ...both in and out of school
  2. What are some funny memories?  ...write this as though you are telling a funny story to someone.
  3. Who do you want to thank and why? How did they help you?
  4. What are you going to miss about St Paul's and why?
  5. What are you looking forward to about secondary school?
  6. What are your hopes for the future?

Transition year 5

I would like you to write a letter to a new person joining the class.

It doesn't matter that you don't know their name, address it to 'Dear new friend'.

In your letter you could include:

  1. A welcome sentence.
  2. What it's like coming into the class as a Year 5...be positive but truthful from your own point of view.
  3. What Oak Class is like...reassure them!
  4. What some rules or routines are.
  5. What kinds of things can they look forward to?
  6. What will  YOU do as a Year 6 to make sure the new Year 5s have a great year.
  7. A final lovely comment about looking forward to getting to know them again.

You can type and email these to me or write by hand.  You will need them in school when you come back as you're going to write them on some nice paper.
