Educational Visits

Fireground Museum

December 2023

As part of our history topic on the Great Fire of London, Beech class visited the Fireground Museum. The children were involved in an interactive workshop where they learnt more about the event, as well as having the opportunity to study at artefacts and  learn what life would have been like over 300 years ago. The children enjoyed pretending to put out a fire with an old fire hose and sequence the fire helmets worn over the years. They visited the old engines in the museum and looked at the changes over time. The children also enjoyed sitting in a fire engine, dressing up and sliding down a fireman's pole! It was a wonderful day with lots of fun learning.
