Mathematics

At our Easter Holiday activity day, we played team games to revise sentence types, word classes, grammatical vocabulary, volume, active and passive form and improve our memories!

We used plastic sheets on a place value chart to help us understand what happens to decimal numbers when we multiply and divide them by 10, 100 and 1000

This week we set up a shop and used our mental addition and subtraction skills to pay and give change.

We linked our work in English with Maths this week, when we created line graphs showing the different emotions of Hansel and Gretel in Neil Gaiman's book.

Amazing use of number-lines today to explore the link between repeated addition and multiplication of the 8 times tables

This week we have been working in mixed age pairs so that the Year 6 could teach the Y5 a formal multiplication strategy

This week we took part in a Maths World Cup! We competed against other schools to earn points and enjoyed mixing maths, fitness and mindfulness. We really enjoyed this way of demonstrating our learning.
