Buddies

The Reception children love their weekly reading sessions with their year 6 buddies! The children have the opportunity to practise reading their reading books to their buddies who also enjoy the chance to support their buddies as they begin their reading adventures!
To ease transition to school, all children in Reception are given a year 6 'buddy', who helps them to line up, learn where they should hang up their coats, where to go for lunch and to be a familiar face around the school. Here are the Year 6 and Reception buddies at the Drake class welcome assembly. The Reception children gave their buddies a card as a sign of their thanks for being a great friend on the start of their learning journey at St. Paul's.
