Thursday 7th May

Good morning super Year 2's. I hope you are having a good week so far. I know how hard you are working, so you might be pleased to know that tomorrow is a bank holiday, so you can have an extra day's rest. Your maths learning for today is below, but our other activities for today are on our 'Everybody Week 5' page. Just follow the link below and it will take you there. Magic!smiley

Our Maths Learning Today

Today we are learning that 2/4 (two quarters) is the same as 1/2 (one half).

You may like to start with a biscuit, banana or strip of paper etc... anything you have available to cut half and then into quarters. Use these to demonstrate that two quarters is the same as a half. If you didn't get chance yesterday, Espresso (discovery education) has some great fraction videos and games you may like to explore. The link and password are on yesterday's Year 2 page.

Our PowerPoint for today is below. Please start from lesson 2

Our worksheets then focus on the equivalence of a half and two quarters.

You should have a chilli challenge in your maths pack 'Week commencing 4th May'. If you fancy a further callenge here are all of the challenges...
