Preparing to create our own maps of London landmarks…

We learnt about London landmarks through online videos, books, maps and photographs. We put these altogether to produce our own maps. These contributed to our display too!

Using Compass Directions to Navigate Around a Map of London

Now familiar with the famous landmarks of London we implemented our compass skills to write the directions from one landmark to another; first using our own maps and then using the square grid format below. We found this one trickier and so used counters to count the jumps in each direction. It was a challenge we will revisit but we were getting there!

Aoibheann's HUGE map of London which she made with her mum at home! Well done Aoibheann!
