Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero
Good morning Year 2's. I hope you have enjoyed your week of learning so far. It has been lovely to welcome some of the Year 1 children back into our classroom, but we are missing you all very much. We are thinking of you all, and although not together in class we are all doing very similar learning activities. It will be a hot day today so you may like to do some of our activites outside in the sunshine. I'm hoping Mr Davies will have the pool up when I get back home so I can do some more deep pool diving from on board my pink flamingo!!! I think I will need to cool down after a hot day at school!
The Wednesday Word...
Will today be led by Mrs Armstrong-Boyle. The word is 'Faith.' Follow the link below to our video page; just look under the 'Wednesday Word' section. I also include a copy of the Wednesday Word leaflet.
Our Literacy Activity
Following on from reading Dougal's Deep Sea Diary last week we are going to have some descriptive fun today. We are going to make a suitcase that would have been suitable for Dougal to take on his diving holiday. If you would like to listen to the story again to give you ideas about what Dougal may have packed, here is a link to last week's page...
You might be able to use some in your description of the objects you would put into Dougal's case...
Our Maths Learning Today
Firstly, you might like to try your hand at these problems. The answers will follow...
Our Topic Work
Please see our separate topic page for our additional curriculum areas. I have added a couple of extra activites on; one a new unit of Aboriginal Art and an additional Science unit on 'Animal Habitats.' This afternoon you may still need time to complete your Dougal suitcase activity. You may like to paint your items in the bag and make Dougal's suitcase very attractive on the outside too. Don't forget to attach a label with his name on and perhaps his destination!
You may also like to spend some time enjoying the sunshine. Why not take your art or science work outside? That's what we will be doing at school.
