RE

Today we will be continuing to learn about inspirational people who have lived out the beatitudes. On Monday we learnt about the extraordinary life of Edith Stein (1891-1942) who lived during World War 2. You learnt about Edith Stein and why she is an example of someone who lived out the beatitude, 'Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.'

LO. To Know why Jesus blessed the pure in heart and reflect on the presence of God within you.

You have today's RE lesson time to continue with the activities set on Monday. I have given you time today to finish this as I would like you to write your answers in as much detail as possible.

When you come to write up your prayer, I would like you to present this beautifully and to send me a copy for the RE class page! We will be able to share our prayers with each other when we are back in class together soon (not to much longer to wait!) I have given you examples to help you!

Challenge

If you would like a further challenge, then look at the silver or gold activity and have a go at that! Those of you who are already completing the gold activity, if you would like a challenge please email me and I will send you your challenge!

Blessed are the Pure of Heart

Watch this video to help you develop a deeper understanding of this beatitude and to answer question 1.

History

Last lesson you became a detective and found out about Prophet Muhammed (PBUH.) Click on today's History Loom lesson to learn what happened next and explore how and why the caliphate (Muslin Empire) grew so far and so fast!

Click on the Loom lesson, complete the linked activity and mark your work using the answer sheet. I have included the PowerPoint presentation in case you need it to help you answer the questions I have set you.

*Remember to write the first two letters of your name in the comments section. As well as emailing them to me as usual, I would also like you to keep your answers from today's lesson as I would like you to bring them into class when we are back at school as we will be making good use of them!

PSHE

This term in PSHE we will be exploring the importance of self-esteem and ways this can be boosted. We will be investigating and reflecting upon a variety of positive and negative online/ social media contexts including gaming and social networking. Within our lessons, we will be exploring the SMARRT internet safety rules and how you apply these in different situations.

So, today I would like to find out what you already know about staying safe online. I would like you to use your learning from Computing, Internet Safety Day and today’s assembly to complete the KWL grid. Complete this grid in as much detail as you can - show me everything you already know about keeping safe online and the dos and don'ts!

Start by watching Sarah's assembly - include her top tips in your KWL grid!
