Phonics

Today's link to the phonics lessons is below. You are all working so hard and practising every day which is great to see - well done and keep going! laugh

Set 1 speed sounds - today's sound is v

Set 1 word time

Set 1 spellings

Set 2 speed sounds - today's sound is air

Set 2 spellings

If your child has completed set 2 sounds please join in with the red words 1 lesson and the hold a sentence 1 lesson.

Reading

Today we read another new story. Choose from either the ditty sheet - today it's ditty 12 'a bash' and if you have completed these. Please read red ditty book 2 Story 1 'Nog in the fog.' Remember to practise reading the sounds and green and red words first and encourage your child to sound out the words to help them to read each word in turn.

Blending activity

If you fancy something a bit different from playing a game online - you can write the following sounds on pieces of paper 'm, a, s, d, t ' then use the letters to make the following words 'at, dad, mat, mad, sat, sad' then ask your child to 'Fred talk' the word by saying each sound in turn and then blend the sounds to read the word, eg m-a-t, mat. Try each word in this way. If you would like an extra challenge you could then ask your child to use the letters to make the words too.

If you prefer to practise online - click on the link below for a great game practising blending skills from topmarks.

Reception maths

Today's maths is all about recognising 6,7 and 8 and matching them in a fun game. Watch the video and have a go at the activity.

Year 1 maths

Today you will be looking at how to compare number sentences. Watch the video, pausing in the right places to complete the sheet.
