Week 8

Well done Willow Class for a super half term! There has been so many new faces, routines and learning opportunities and you have taken these all in your stride!

We have spent this week reading stories that promote kindness and respect towards others, linking these with our school SHINE rules. We have been thinking about how we can show kindness in our classroom and round the school. We reminded ourselves of our class charter and how our actions affect those around us. We used the book 'Our class is a Family' to help us to understand our part in making our class a happy and safe place to be.

This week we were treated to Oak Class assembly. It was so lovely that the children got to see their buddies perform and were so proud of them.

The children have really settled into the RWI phonics sessions. We have been very impressed with their retention of the sounds and the practise they are doing at home using the virtual classroom and phonic sheet resources. This is having a notable impact and the children are choosing to use writing in their play and apply this phonic knowledge in their drawing club sessions. Please continue to reinforce the sounds over the half term so they continue this momentum!

Hope that you have a lovely half term and we look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 5th November.
