Maths - Summer Terms 1 and 2 2020

A Maths Message from Miss Flatley and Mrs Dixon - for parents and children

Currently St. Paul's uses the 'White Rose Maths Hub' to assist with planning and resources.  Due to our mixed age classes, we adapt this so that the year groups are following a broadly similar curriculum, albeit at different levels of difficulty.

With the announcement this term of schools remaining closed until further notice, we have decided that for this summer term, we are going to more closely follow the White Rose curriculum structure, for the separate year groups, and this will continue whether the children are learning at home, or back in class together when schools reopen.

Many other schools also use the White Rose materials and as a result, White Rose have joined forces with BBC Bitesize, to create a clear 12 week learning plan for the summer term, which will cover topics not yet taught and also focus on the main concepts they need for the following school year.

The plan below, shows the work that the children will cover, week by week.

The first two weeks differ slightly from the BBC Bitesize Plan, but from week 3 onward the plans run together.

This means that every day, there’s a learning video on the White Rose web page to watch, and a link to that day’s BBC Bitesize page for more information and even more lesson content.  As the Brunel Class teachers subscribe for the White Rose Premium content, the related worksheets and answers will be posted as usual, here on the website.
