Maths

The maths lesson today focuses on multiplication arrays. Please complete lesson 1 of the PowerPoint presentation and download the sheets named 'Practical Arrays'.

Children are to select a task card and build an array using the pictorial representations shown. Children will describe the array:
There are ____ on each row.
There are ____ rows.
There are ____ altogether.
Children are then to write a repeated addition number sentence to represent the array.

If your child is finding this concept difficult use apparatus you have in your home to do this practically e.g create arrays using Lego pieces or pencils.

Choose the star level you feel is best for you. Once you have completed the worksheet then there is an extra challenge called 'Activity Arrays' if you wish to so it.

History - Intrepid Explorers.

Have a look at the presentation to remind your child all about Christopher Columbus. You also have an information sheet about comparing sea journeys now and in the past and worksheet 2D to compare the journeys.
