EYFS

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

We pride ourselves on the quality of care and provision we offer to every child and their families who have chosen to join our school family. We recognise the privilege we have been offered in shaping the educational experience for your child and work in partnership with all parents - who we identify as the child's first teachers. During the EYFS year we aim to ignite a love of learning and uncover the unique gift that each child brings to our school community. Shaping them to be the best that they can be!

We follow the new EYFS framework. The engaging framework is shaped into seven areas of learning and development which are all important and inter-connected. Three areas are particularly important for building a foundation for igniting children's curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, forming relationships and thriving.

There are three prime areas:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development

The four specific areas are:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive Arts and Design
