Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero

Week 4

Another wonderful week in Willow Class and we have been focussing on the celebration of Lunar New Year. We have learnt all about how it is celebrated and drawn parallels to other celebrations. We have explored Chinese characters and traditional clothing as well as having a Chinese food tasting. The children were keen to try spring rolls, seaweed, prawn crackers and noodles. We then, as a class, discussed which we liked best and those that we weren't so keen on! Everyone liked the prawn crackers and we were impressed that those children who were a little less keen to try the new foods gave it a go! Brilliant growth mindset!

This week in RE we heard the story of Jesus welcoming the children to him and painted pictures of ourselves and wrote how we were special friends of Jesus.

thank you to our visitor Mrs Grimshaw for coming in to tell us all about going to the dentist.  She brought lots of things in to show us and we learnt a lot!

Our thanks goes to Sienna's mum for being our mystery reader this week. Should you wish to put your name down to be a mystery reader, please message us on Tapestry- the children love the excitement of wondering who it will be each week!
