Phonics and Reading

Learning to read is the single most important thing that your child will learn during their time at our school.   As achievement in reading (both decoding and understanding) affects everything else they do, we put as much energy and resources as we can into making sure that every child learns to read as quickly as possible.  We want your child to love reading – and to want to read for themselves.

Click on the links below to read about how we teach phonics using Read, Write, Inc. and how we develop a love of books as well as simply learning to read.
