History

Local history at Lyme Park

We spent the day at Lyme Hall finding out what life would have been like for the rich and poor people who lived in the house during the Edwardian period. We had to practise walking correctly by balancing books on our heads, as the family who owned the had to do everything 'just right'. We also got to sample the life of the servants of the house by polishing the silverware, ironing the clothes and cleaning the floors.

Discovering Tutankhamun's Tomb

We recreated the excitement of Howard Carter discovering King Tutankhamun's tomb in the Valley of the Kings by exploring and discovering Egyptian artefacts. We used the artefacts to learn about Ancient Egyptian life.

In history we ordered dates from 3000BC to 2017 AD!
