Educational Visits

Silk Museum

As part of our history topic focusing on toys and learning about life beyond living memory, we visited the Silk Museum in Macclesfield. The children found out about life in Victorian times. They pretended to be children who lived a long time ago and found out about what life was like for families, what happened at school and also what toys children played with. They had opportunities to play with old toys and also make their own thaumatrope. They also visited the mill and learnt about the jobs people did and how silk is made. It was a brilliant days with lots of hands on learning!

Christmas Story Trail

The children thoroughly enjoyed their morning visiting St George's Church for the Christmas Story Trail. They learnt in detail about the Christmas story and 'God's Rescue Plan' for the world. It was a wonderful immersive experience for the children, they were amazed when they walked into the hills and heard and saw the angels singing in the night sky!
