Anti-bullying Week 16th - 20th November

Odd Socks Day

We kickstarted our anti-bullying week campaign by celebrating odd socks day, where we celebrated being different and unique. We had beautiful array of different socks!

Our Gingerbread characters of difference. We have written our differences on our t shirts.

Children In Need

On Wednesday we celebrated Children in Need which fitted in perfectly with our anti-bullying week theme. We discussed the adversities which some children face and why, in times of sadness and illness people need our kindness more than ever. heart

Our Wednesday Word

Also fitted in perfectly with our theme. Our word was kindness. We heard the story of 'The Good Samaritan' and discussed how Jesus says what we do for others we are also doing for him. We then made posters and messages based on what Jesus' message would be on bullying.

Here are some of our poster messages...
Year 1 posters coming soon... awaiting print delivery from the laptops!laugh

For the Birds Animation

We watched the short animation on 'The Literacy Shed' called 'For the Birds' which again linked into the theme of bullying and the smaller birds treating the larger bird differently due to his size. We then became animators to illustrate one or more of the birds ourselves, but to create a speech bubble with words of kindness. Here are our results!smiley
