Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero
Good morning to you all,
I hope that you are all well and ready for another day of learning. This week we are enjoying travelling into space and today you finally get to listen and read the story of Bob the Man on the Moon! Start your day with your phonics work and then you have some reading and maths work to do. This afternoon you can choose a lesson from the Topic page.
Phonics
Your Read, Write Inc. lesson today focuses on learning and reading the sound 'er'. Complete the Speedy Sounds lesson and the Spellings. It would be great if you watch the Longer Words video focusing on the sound 'ar' and also the Read and Hold a Sentence 2 task. All these videos are perfect for becoming a more fluent and confident reader whilst developing into a super speller and writer.
Reading
The children in school enjoyed reading the non fiction book 'A place in space: the moon' yesterday. There are many challenging words in this book and lots of new words to learn. Today I would like you to read the book again and then complete the questions at the back of the book.
Handwriting
Don't forget to keep practising your handwriting using the 'get ready' lines. Remember you can keep practising your handwriting whenever you are doing writing tasks.
Our Maths Learning Today
Yesterday we started our trial of a slightly different maths presentation this week; which includes videos of our learning focus. We hope that you enjoyed this yesterday. Today we continue to look again at number and place value to 100. Today we revise our previous learning on partitioning numbers...
Topic
Choose a lesson from our Topic page. The children in school will be doing some Science work today and some art. Have a fun day learning.
