Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero

Willow

Welcome to Willow Class, St Paul's Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

At St Paul’s we aim to provide motivating first-hand experiences whilst encouraging children to build resilience through a ‘growth mindset’ approach, ambition and a lifelong love of learning. We aim to build on the wealth of knowledge and skills children already have when they arrive from previous settings and at home, ensuring each individual reaches their full potential from their various starting points.

Our broad curriculum offer allows children to develop their interpersonal skills, problem solve, be change makers, become creative thinkers and have fun whilst learning! We pride ourselves on our positive relationships with all children, our supportive partnerships with families and our Parish community. We have created a stimulating learning environment both inside and outside the classroom which the children take pride in caring for. Every child in our school is recognised as a unique individual with unique gifts that we nurture with care and celebrate with joy.

Our school Mission Statement of “Aspire not to have more but to be more,” unpins the ethos within our class and indeed, school, and we encourage children to live this in their interactions with each other.

By the end of the Reception year, our intent is to ensure that all children make at least good progress from their starting points and are equipped with the skills and knowledge to have a smooth transition into Year 1.
