Week 2

A lovely week of sunshine and super learning experiences! This week we began our Sunflower Challenge as part of our maths learning. We aim to become sunflower experts! We have explored different types of seeds comparing and contrasting them and thought about what they might grow into. We have used the seeds to practise our counting and subitising skills too. We then had to decide what might be the best sort of pot to plant a seed into. We had some great ideas and the children were very articulate describing what would make a suitable or unsuitable pot!

We have also been learning this week about caterpillars and their lifecycles in preparation for our class caterpillars to arrive. We have used the Hungry Caterpillar as our drawing club book this week and they have been imaging what the inside of the cocoon might be like!

We have also been busy practising our athletic skills in our PE lesson with Mr Tweedy on the field in readiness for sports day later this term.

Well done Willow Class on your learning!
