Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero

Week 1

It has been lovely to welcome back all the families of Willow Class for the summer term. We also welcome Mrs Duffy to Willow Class who will be working with us every morning and Miss Morton in the afternoons.

We have made the most of the beautifully sunny week and spent lots of time in our hutch and in the school grounds. On Tuesday we celebrated Earth Day and highlighted how important it is to look after our world. We reminded ourselves about the importance of recycling and sorted lots of items into their material types for recycling. We read the story "Let's go for a walk" by Ranger Hamza and went on our own walk in our school grounds spotting things from our checklist and ticking them off!

Our drawing club story was Superworm this week- one of our favourites! We have new group names based on minibeasts too.

In RE this week we heard the story of Mary Magdalene realising that Jesus was alive and how she felt. The children all drew and wrote about a person or place that makes them feel joyful.

Our thanks goes to Mrs Hardy, Amelie's mum, for coming in to be our mystery reader this week. The children loved listening to you reading a story. If you would like to be a mystery reader in Willow Class please let us know- the children love the excitement of a mystery reader!
