Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero

Week 1

Welcome back Willow class to the second half of the spring term!

This week we have been busy in Drawing Club using the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. The children have loved using this to write about what the giant looked like, what other lands could be at the top of the beanstalk and describing the treasure at the top of the beanstalk. Lovely imaginative ideas and great use of adjectives to make their writing even better!

The children enjoyed Maths Monday this week- a carousel of maths based activities to develop and consolidate their skills. it is great to hear them making links in their learning; "There are 5 beads which is a 3 and a 2".

In RE this week we thought about the coming season of Lent. We looked at what this meant and how we could use this time to become even better versions of ourselves, following in the footsteps of Jesus. We wrote Lenten promises for our RE display.

Our thanks to Mrs Downes, previously one of our midday supervisors, for coming in to Willow to be our mystery reader this week. She read one of our favourites; "Suddenly!".
