Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero

Oak

In Oak Class, children in Year 5 and 6 take on responsibilities as they begin the final stage of their primary school journey. They will become buddies for children in Reception as well on taking roles within the school council. They will apply for positions on the GIFT (Growing in Faith Together) team, the Well-being team, the Eco Council and for House Captains.

The children will build on skills learned throughout the school to become enthusiastic learners across the curriculum. They will be encouraged to reach their potential through developing a mature attitude towards learning, using independent learning skills and teamwork to research a wide range of topics.

By the end of Year 6, children will be prepared for their transition into high school. They will have taken part in transition activities and residential trips to prepare them for the next stage in their educational journey and allow them to make new friends with other year 6 children.
