Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero

Week commencing Monday 29th June

Here are your topic lessons to choose from for this week. smiley

Science

Your Science lesson this week focuses on identifying the different parts of a plant. Use the slides to learn about the parts of the plant and then use the worksheet in your Home Learning pack to label the plant. You may prefer to use a black piece of paper and drawing your own tree/plant rather than using the sheet provided. I know Galileo children are great little artists!

Art

If you didn't get chance to have a go at our Aboriginal turtle art last week you may like to have a go this week. Watch the clip below and you can follow the step by step guide.

You will need

  • A cotton bud or slim ended paint brush
  • Poster paints
  • A piece of paper

Art Activity 2

Mrs Davies is warming herself up to share some very special letters with you later in the week; written by a girl called Emily who believes that she has seen a blue whale in her garden pond. Become a blue whale illustrator by joining in with Rob Biddulph as he shows you how to draw one. He's very funny too and will make you smile! Do share your pictures either on our Blog or by email.

Geography

I hope that you enjoyed learning about a coastal area of the United Kingdom last week. This week you are to compare a British beach with one from another country. Use the pictures provided to talk about the human and physical features before completing the sheet. Feel free to use your own holiday photos if you prefer.

Computing

It is week 5 of your online safety learning. Please download the activity sheet below. I hope you are finding these lessons helpful.

Music

The music lesson uses a song you may have heard before; 'A sailor went to sea, sea, sea'. It focuses on fast and slow tempos. There a range of other resources which you can use too. You may enjoy listening to the music called 'By the Sleepy Lagoon' and answering some of the questions about it, this resource can be found at the bottom of the web page.

PE

Please continue with your daily exercise, it's important to keep us feeling fit and healthy. You can always join in with Joe Wicks and Cosmic Kids Yoga as extra exercise too.
