Uniform

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Children need to be suitably clothed for a working day.

Our school uniform was selected and agreed by parents, governors and children.  The uniform colours are red, grey and white.

The school uniform consists of:

  • official red school sweatshirt (available through school) or plain red jumper/cardigan
  • grey school trousers/skirt/pinafore
  • white/red polo-shirt/shirt/blouse
  • black sensible school shoes
  • white/red/grey/black socks or tights

Summer option:

  • red and white dress
  • grey skirt or shorts

The PE kit consists of:

  • official red t-shirt (available through school) or plain red t-shirt
  • black shorts
  • trainers for outdoor use
  • black pumps for indoor use (Key Stage 1 and 2)
  • black jogging bottoms (for outdoor use in cold weather)
  • light, waterproof jacket which will not restrict your child's movement

PE kit and trainers must be worn to school on PE days.  School jumper must also be worn.  Black pumps can be kept in a named drawstring bag in the cloakroom.

We ask also that large bags are not brought into school as we do not have the storage space to accommodate them.

The only jewellery children are allowed to wear to school is stud earrings and watches.  For health and safety reasons earrings must be removed by the child (or covered with tape if recently pierced) for all PE lessons.

Nail varnish is not allowed.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE CHILDREN'S CLOTHES, ESPECIALLY UNIFORM ITEMS, SHOULD BE CLEARLY LABELLED FOR IDENTIFICATION.

The Halo Hair Code

The Halo Code

For Schools

Our school champions the right of staff andstudents to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black staff and students' racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance.

We welcome Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps.

At this school, we recognise and celebrate our staff andstudents' identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture andstyle have no bearing on anyone's ability to succeed.
