Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero

Wednesday 25th March

Good morning everyone. I hope you are all well and enjoying some sunshine. I am really missing you but feel like we are together through our class pages.

I have taken a photograph of the of the work sheets from your pack that you will need for today.

  • To get your day off to a great start don't forget to tune into Joe Wicks and his workout at 9 o'clock. If you miss it he does save it to his you tube channel. Luca and I did it in two halves yesterday! And no, I do not have a photograph of me doing it! wink
  • I have put a little reflection about our Wednesday word on our 'everybody' page. It would be wonderful if we still celebrate it from our homes.
  • Our literacy work today is to have our Mr Benn story plan and title page all ready to start writing our stories tomorrow.
Your sheets are in your pack. If you are not happy with your story plan or have changed your mind; I have included the year 1 story board below. Print it out if you can or use your 'working from home book' to draw the boxes on to help you or a blank piece of paper.

If your Mr Benn story board is all ready then please spend 15 minutes on your handwriting. I am really looking to see those get ready lines.smiley

Then have a read through your 'Year 1 common exception words'  which are in your 'writing assessment expectations pack'. By the end of year 1 we would aim to be able to read and spell these words.

Finally, I include a link to a Mr Benn story on you tube. Watch it so you can listen to the language David Mckee uses to tell the story. This will help you when we start our own stories tomorrow.

For your maths work today, use the time to catch up on any my maths homework you haven't completed. If you can't find your log in or need help getting on just email me and I will resend your individual password.

If you are up to date … WELL DONE! Have a go at the number 4 activity in your year 1 maths activity pack. It's the one about making a pattern with objects and then creating dance moves to go with it! Don't forget you can blog about how it has gone or even post a photo.

Finally, this afternoon is science. Find your 'Year 1 Science...Everyday Materials Learning From Home Activity Booklet' and complete 'In The Toy Box'.

Then, rest and relax and have some home choosing time. Maybe fresh air in the garden, construction making or drawing.
