Phonics

We continue to follow the read write inc videos and they are a fantastic way to recap a sound or learn a new one. There are also the other videos you can choose if you feel confident with your sounds. You might like to try the spelling videos or green words, there is also the red word practise and if you are feeling like a challenge you could try the 'reading longer words' or the 'hold a sentence' videos.

Animal challenge

This week we are going to think again about the story 'The mixed up Chameleon'. Watch the story again and think about the colours he is able to change into. Today you are going to think of your own story about the Chameleon going for a walk. Where might he go? What things might he pass on his way? As he passes different things describe what colours he might turn? You might like to draw a picture for each of the things he passes too. Follow the link below if you would like to watch the story again and I have also done an example story but I'm sure your stories will be much more exciting! smiley

Maths

We hope that you enjoying our new look maths  this week. We are trying to make sure that you are all 'Year 2' ready by making sure you understand these important mathematical concepts. Today we continue to look  again at number and place value to 100 by comparing numbers and using our knowledge and understanding of what each number in a 2 digit number stands for to be able to say which number is 'greater than' > or less than <… or equal to =

We will see that 14 < 41 and so it is important that we read and understand the values of the tens and units; the place value of each digit...

Our 'Comparing' worksheet' for today... remember the questions get harder as you go, so see how far you can get. You can print out the sheet or ecord your answers in your green book...

Would you like to be the teacher today? Here are the answers so you can mark your work.
