On Monday you will all be given a voucher which will entitle you to buy a special World Book Day book for £1.00 or you could use it to receive £1 off a book of your choice. These are the books available to purchase for £1.00.

The books are available from supermarkets, click and collect book stores and many book stores will accept them on reopening. I wonder which book you like the look of? I will be sharing videos from 3 of the authors throughout today...smiley

The Wednesday Word
Before we have a listen to our first author I will send you over to Mrs Armstrong-Boyle for this week’s Wednesday Word.🙏
Here is one of the authors, Tom Fletcher, who is also in a pop band called 'McFly'! Here he talks to you about how writing and illustrating books. His £1.00 book is called 'There's a Wolf in your Book.'

Our Maths Learning Today...

Year 1

Today we continue our work on measuring. Yesterday you were measuring with cubes. Today you will be introduced to measuring with a ruler. If you have a ruler at home have a look at it and see what you notice, then watch our first teaching video for today...

Before you start your afternoon's learning, I thought you may like to see a few more shoebox habitats. These were made by Arianna and Olivia. Super work girls!

Our afternoon book linked art activity

Good afternoon everyone! Here is Jonny Duddle, who wrote ‘The Jolly Rogers’ pirate book series and ‘Gigantosaurus’ book talking about his £1.00 book ‘Dino Spot.’ Jonny illustrates his own stories too, so you will hear how he collects his ideas. He draws a triceratops so you may like to pause his video and join in. OR I have a dinosaur drawing tutorial from illustrator Rob Biddulph.
Enjoy listening to Jonny’s story ‘Gigantosaurus’ too. 😀🌟
And... there is also a competition to design a book gift card. I include the sheet on which you will draw your design. Perhaps illustrate your favourite book characters! Good luck.
