Afternoon topic activities

Welcome to our afternoon topic activities. This week we will be having a focus on well being linked to 'Children's Mental Health Week' We are sharing a range of stories, videos and activities here to support your child's well being. Please pick and choose from our activities throughout the week and don't forget to share with us on Tapestry what you have been up to! laugh

Personal Social and Emotional Development

This year's theme for Children's mental health week is 'Express yourself'. Have a watch of the video and join Mrs Danton to discuss your feelings. Please remember to add your initials so we can see if you have viewed this.

You can print off the sheet and draw some pictures of what makes you happy or you could just draw them on a piece of paper. Alternatively you could tell a grown up or film yourself saying what makes you happy.

Art and design- Express yourself!

This year's child mental health week theme is 'Express yourself'. With this in mind we would like the children to make, draw, bake or create something that reflects them and the things they like. It might be that they make a car out of recycling boxes as they love cars, bake a cake using chocolate as it's their favourite food, build a paper mache planet as they love space, create a painting of their favourite place to be, make a collage of their favourite colours, toys etc. You can be as creative as you like reflecting you and what you like!

We would love to see a short video of you explaining what you have made and why. Have fun!

Understanding the World - Science

We are continuing to find out about different types of animals. Have a look at the presentation and then either complete the worksheet  (just sheet 1 unless you wish to do more) deciding what group the animals belong in or if you fancy something a bit different you could draw a picture of a bird and explain how you know it is a bird and repeat this with a reptile.

PSED and mindfulness

In our Jigsaw lessons in school we have worked on our 'Rainbow breathing' lots as a way of calming down. Have a look at the video below and practise your super rainbow breathing!

There are also links to a cosmic kids meditation to relax your mind and body. 🧘‍♀️

E-Safety
