Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero

Wednesday 6th May

English:

LO: To write a short story.

The time has come for you to write your own story.    Re-read the original story from last week and then look back at your work done over the last two weeks.

Have a look at the prompt sheet attached below and then write your own story.  Use the plan you made yesterday to help and if you want, follow the same structure as the original story, but change the characters, settings and problem.

You have until Monday to do this, so there won't be an English lesson posted on Thursday...just a reminder about this and a link to the Podcast.

I have also included here some instructions on how to make a paper book, so once you've written your story, you could turn it into an actual book!

Maths: Year 5 or 6

LO: To use grid multiplication to multiply two digit numbers

If you are focusing on your use of grid (or area) method this week, watch the video from the point indicated and then have a go at the attached sheet.

I'll post the answers tomorrow. :)

Grid Method TU x TU: You only need to watch from 2 minutes 13 seconds onward.

Here are the answers to yesterday's grid method sheets

Don't forget the weekly Zoom Chat at 2pm if you can make it!

LO: Plan a VE Day Celebration

In a change from the planned 'seasonal eating' unit, this afternoon I would like you to do some things to prepare for VE day on Friday.  Celebrations may be different to what we had planned to mark this special day, but it CAN still be celebrated.  Watch the video to find out a little about why we rememebr this day and then choose from the activities to prepare for Friday!
