Aspire not to have more but to be more – St Oscar Romero

Thursday 9th July

Good morning everyone and welcome to your writing task for today.smiley

This is a creative challenge and another task linked to 'writing for a real life purpose.'cool

Over the past few weeks we have touched on the environmental consequences  on our world from pollution (in particular plastic affecting sea life), and through our 'Follow the Moon Home',  'Dear Greenpeace' and 'Sally and the Limpet' yesterday, we have looked at the importance of preserving animal habitats or homes.

Today my challenge is that you make a poster that would persuade others to think about either;

  • The affect plastic pollution has on our sea life; so to take care with how we dispose of our rubbish.
  • To respect and look after animals and their habitats.
  • The danger of hunting and killing sea animals for non essential reasons.

I will explain a little more about this is my videos but first, I include a couple of power point presentations that will help to focus our minds!yes

Our first powerpoint

Explains about persuasive writing. Year 2's you may like to write a few sentences on your poster to go with a clear and striking illustration.

Year 1's you may write one clear message; one very striking sentence with a clear message.

Our second powerpoint reminds us about the affects of plastic pollution
